- June 16, 2026 - Jesuit missionaries decide to burn the mission of Ste-Marie-aux-Hurons rather than risk seeing it desecrated or permanently overrun by Iroquois in further attacks. Wrote Father Paul Ragueneau later wrote, "We ourselves set fire to it, and beheld it burn before our eyes, and in less than one hour, our work of nine or ten years was gone." Québec

- June 16, 2026 - Queen Anne's War - Acadian governor Daniel d'Auger de Subercase drives off Massachusetts militia under Col John March after a ten-day siege of Port Royal with 1,150 soldiers and 450 sailors, and a fleet of 24 ships. - June 16, 2026 - French and Indian War - Lt Col Robert Monckton leads more than 2,000 British troops in capture of Fort Beauséjour on the Isthmus of Chignecto from Louis de Vergor; Fort Gaspereau, the last French fort in Acadia, surrenders the next day; giving the British full control of what is now New Brunswick. - June 16, 2026 - Pontiac's Rising - Chief Pontiac (Obwandiyag)'s Iroquois Seneca allies capture Fort Venango, near present day Franklin, Pennsylvania; they kill the entire 12-man garrison outright, keeping the commander alive to write down the grievances of the Senecas, then they ritually burn him at the stake; the same warriors may have attacked nearby Fort Le Boeuf, on June 18, but most of the 12-man garrison had escaped to Fort Pitt.
